Commission Your Custom Artwork
Art has the power to elevate a space, and there’s something especially meaningful about being involved in the creative journey from the very beginning. Commissioning a piece allows you to bring a personal vision to life, and I’m here to help guide you through that process on behalf of the artist.
The Commission Process:
1. Initial Inquiry
To get started, please reach out through the contact form on our website. In your message, feel free to include the following details to help us understand your vision:
What size painting are you looking for?
Is there a specific deadline or event?
What is your delivery ZIP code?
How did you discover the artist's work?
Do you have a favorite piece by the artist?
2. Consultation & Quote
After reviewing your request, I will schedule a time for us to chat further about your ideas. Based on that conversation, I’ll provide a custom quote and an estimated timeline for the piece.
3. Agreement & Deposit
Once we decide to move forward, I’ll send over a straightforward agreement outlining the project. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the commission, with the balance due upon completion. If the final artwork isn’t quite what you envisioned, your deposit can be applied toward any available original work by the artist.
4. Mood Board & Palette Selection
Following the signed agreement and deposit, the artist will prepare a digital mood board and color palette tailored to your space. Once you approve the direction, the painting process will begin.
5. Creation Phase
The artist typically takes 10–12 weeks to complete a commission. Preliminary sketches or studies may be created to ensure we’re aligned on the overall direction and tone of the piece—allowing for thoughtful collaboration and transparency.
6. Preview & Revisions
At around 90% completion, I’ll send you images of the painting so you can provide feedback. The artist is happy to make refinements to ensure you’re fully satisfied with the result. Once approved, the piece will be varnished, signed, and prepared for finishing touches.
7. Framing & Delivery
Unless otherwise discussed, commissions are created on 1.5” gallery-wrapped canvas and finished with a raw maple frame. We’ll handle careful packaging and coordinate delivery directly to your location.
